Put broadminded comedy in the embracing group. In fact, the Milwaukee troupe of Stacy Babl, Anne Graff LaDisa, Melissa Kingston and Megan McGee have choreographed an entire sketch show around the theme of surprise.
And though “sketch” suggests premeditation, broadminded has worked a couple of surprises into each show for the entertainment value of seeing how one of them responds to the unknown in front of an audience. For instance, on opening night, Stacy had Anne balance a bucket on her head and then tossed water balloons for Anne to catch.
The final shows of broadminded’s “Surprise!” are at 7:30 p.m., on Friday,April 12, and Saturday, April 13, at the Tenth Street Theater, 628 N. 10th St. They rate the material suitable for ages 15 and older. Tickets are $10 at www.broadmindedcomedy.com.
