Because they support one another – because that’s what friends do – the whole entire monthly T.I.M. show is shifting in August to accommodate one of its own.
Robby McGhee is busy debuting his original show, The Burden of Being, at the Alchemist Threatre the last three weekends (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) of August. And because he’s relying on his collaborators from The Improvised Musical, that means T.I.M. can’t perform on the third Thursday of the month – as it has for the last two years.
But here’s the good news: T.I.M. will improvise a full-hour musical from audience suggestions with its veteran thespians and in-house band on Thursday, Aug. 8.
As usual, the show begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be at ComedySportz Milwaukee, 420 S. 1st St. It’s still only $5, and the bar and restaurant will be open. Call Mary at (414) 272-8888 to make reservations.
Ryan Mason was the emcee for the sold-out 7:30 p.m. Friday show of the 8th annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival.
He’s a member of Milwaukee’s Caste of Killers Comedy Collective and clocks a lot of comedy hours at open mics and showcases and radio, not to mention all the time he puts into writing. The Shepherd Express recently included him among the “fresh faces” of Milwaukee burgeoning comedy scene.
In a Milwaukee Comedy interview, Ryan reflects on how both he and Milwaukee comedy have grown in the last year.
When you’re done watching the interview, check him out at www.RyanMasonComedy.com.
And if it’s not too late, check out the rest of the Milwaukee Comedy Festival, which runs through Aug. 4.
